SFG Dare to Wear
Story
Everyone loves a little bit of fancy dress and making a fool of themselves, so now it’s time to do it for a very worthy cause.
So, we are asking all our Support Office Team Members to come to work in fancy dress on Friday 15th March, make donations themselves and ask their friends and families to help raise money for this great cause by also donating. Fancy dress can be anything you want; you could do team themes or on an individual basis.
Some fancy dress ideas are; PJs, Gangsters and Molls, 70s, 80s, Wild West, Crocs and Socks…. But the more adventurous and outlandish the better!!!
Each brand/department has a nominated champion who will be your point of contact if you have any questions and will be collecting cash donations on the day if you have not made a donation online. Brands/departments are invited to nominate a 'best dressed' Team Member, all nominee names and photos will be emailed to Gary who will decide on an overall winner.
The prize... recognition - your photo on THREADS and on the TV in the cafe area.
What is Dare to Wear Day?
Dare to Wear Day supports Fitted for Work, a not-for-profit organisation which helps women experiencing disadvantage get work and keep it building skills and confidence through interview training, mentoring, transition to work programs, and a free business clothes outfitting service.
75% of women who visit Fitted for Work are employed within 3 months, so this is a very worthwhile cause to support!

Fitted for Work
Transform the lives of women experiencing disadvantage!
Fitted for Work is an innovative not-for-profit organisation and the first of its kind in Australia. Our vision is financial independence for women and our mission is to help women experiencing disadvantage get work and keep it. Since 2005 we have assisted over 12,000 courageous women step out of disadvantage and into work through our personal outfitting, transition to work and mentoring programs. Our services are practical and effective. Today 75% of the women we help get work within 3 months. We have sites in Melbourne, Morwell and Sydney. Women are referred to us by over 300 community partners. The women we assist face a variety of obstacles – they may be exiting a domestic violence situation, experiencing homelessness, temporarily experiencing ill-health that prevents them from working, have a disability or have become recently widowed or divorced. Many are single mothers who need to support themselves and their family. Every day our dedicated team of 14 staff and over 250 volunteers help women gain the self-esteem and confidence to achieve their goal of sustainable employment.,
